Speech at a meeting held under the auspices of the All Ahmedabad Muslim Students’ Union, Ahmedabad, on 28th January, 1940
Stresses to “build-up Nation-building Departments”
Under the auspices of the All-Ahmedabad Muslim Students’ Union, the Quaid, addressing a large gathering at the Mangaldas Memorial Hall, exhorted Muslims to make efforts in every direction to improve their community and build up nation-building departments. He asked students to study all questions thoroughly and keep themselves informed of the affairs of the world and to form no hasty judgements.
The Quaid said: “the demand for a Constituent Assembly by the Congress would shelve the Hindu-Muslim question. So long as the Congress High Command did not come down to the Muslims, and so long as the Congress was not ready to take their hand of co-operation as two separate nations, there could be no settlement.”
